Susan Adkins - Susan is the Benefits/Compensation Manager. She has worked in various positions throughout her career at CAMC including medical records, pathology, human resources and now benefits/compensation. She has facilitated training on FMLA, absence management, and more recently retention. She enjoys time with her family, reading a good book, and leading the youth group program at her church.
Dianna Branham- Dianna Branham is a Nurse Manager at CAMC. She has been with CAMC for 40 years, beginning as a Nursing Assistant, Graduate Nurse and Nurse Manager. She obtained her Associate Degree at Morris Harvey College (University of Charleston) in 1978. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing in 2011 and obtained her Nurse Executive Certification in 2012. With the CAMC University, she facilitates employees in Service Excellence, Developing Yourself and Others, and Delegating with Purpose. The most rewarding part of being a facilitator for Diana is having the opportunity to teach the goals and expectations of CAMC for a positive patient experience and personal growth and development. Dianna also serves on the Nursing Advisory Committees for BridgeValley and University of Charleston. She loves to vacation at any beach and watching football, golf, and basketball. She and her husband Jeffrey Branham have a daughter, Tara, who is a Nurse Practitioner, and a son, Todd, who owns Pita Pit. Dianna’s Sister’s three children all work at CAMC. Dianna is a health advocate in the community, volunteering for the Health Ministry at Emmanuel Baptist Church and Children’s Lifeline in Haiti with missions, supplies, and fund-raisers.
Pam Brown- Pam Brown is the Lead Organizational Development Consultant for CAMC University and holds a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership Development. Pam is a DDI Certified Facilitator, a Vital Smarts Certified Crucial Conversations Facilitator and a member of the Society for Human Resource Management. She enjoys meeting new employees while facilitating Service Plus and coordinating leadership development programs for employees in the Corporate/Professional, Support Services, and Integrated Health Departments. Pam assisted in the development and implementation of the CAMC University Resource Library. She also ensures appropriate Microsoft Office computer training is offered to meet organizational needs. Prior to joining the CAMC University leadership team, Pam served as the State Contact for WV Trauma Registries and assisted in the development and implementation of an on-line registration system with the Continuing Education Department.
Denise Burgess- Denise is the Director of Obstetrical Services at CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital. She is a Registered Nurse and holds a Masters Degree in Counseling and is a National Board Certified Counselor. She has been actively involved in educational efforts at CAMC and in the community. She has developed and presented workshops, in-services and educational sessions on team building, parenting styles, conflict, domestic violence, workforce development, stress management, and marital communication. Denise is a Certified Nurse Executive, Certified Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Mediator and a CREW, TeamSTEPPS and Development Dimensions International Certified Facilitator. She serves as guest faculty for WVU School of Medicine, educating third-year medical students. She devotes her free time to her family, enjoying music, reading and spending time on the beach at every opportunity.
Cindy Burkholder -Cindy Burkholder is the Corporate Director, Human Resources at CAMC. She holds a M.S. degree in Labor and Industrial Relations and is a Certified Facilitator for DDI, Vital Smarts and Just Culture. During her 24 years at CAMC, her human resources expertise has involved policy writing, employee surveys, performance management, discipline management and employment litigation. During her free time, Cindy enjoys reading, photography and raising her son Blake and twin daughters Alva and Reagan.
Mary Caldwell - Corporate Director, Compensation and Benefits
LeAnne Call – Le Anne is the Ambulatory Service Director. She holds a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from WVU, Bachelor of Science in Education, Associate of Science in Management, and Associate of Science in Office Administration. She is a DDI certified facilitator and has been with CAMC for 17 years. LeAnne has worked in various positions throughout the CAMC system. In her spare time, she enjoys working at her family business, Call’s Meat Market, and attending WVU sporting events.
Leigh Chaney - Leigh is the Director of the CAMC University and holds a Master of Science in Industrial Relations and a Bachelor of Science in Public Service. Leigh has over 30 years of experience in the areas of Organization Development, Change Management and Human Resources. She has received certifications as a Professional Facilitator (CPF); as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR); as a Vital Smarts Crucial Conversations Trainer; to conduct Reuvan Bar-On’s Emotional Intelligence Assessment; to administer the MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator); in the Prosci Change Management Methodology; and by Linkage, Inc. in Organization Development. Leigh provides consultation, coaching and facilitation in the areas of change management, facilitation techniques, problem-solving techniques, meeting planning and design, leadership and employee development, teambuilding, and performance management.
Connie Crede- Connie Crede is the Corporate Laboratory Director for CAMC General. She holds an MBA from University of Charleston and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Marshall University. Connie has been in the Supervisory and/or Management role for 15 of her 30 years as a CAMC employee. Having received her Green Belt in Six Sigma/Lean training, she has been an active member and/or mentor on numerous Six Sigma/Lean projects throughout CAMC departments. Connie received the Heart and Soul award in 2002 for her Missions work with children from Belarus. In addition to these activities, Connie has been an active participant on the West Virginia Board for the Clinical Laboratory Management Association. She is an active member of her church where she works with multiple missions. In her spare time, she loves to ski, camp, kayak, and travel as much as possible with her family and friends.
Judy Ditchen - Judy is the Nurse Manager for Medical Rehabilitation Nursing at the General Hospital. She is a Registered Nurse and holds a Bachelor Degree in Nursing from Berea College, KY. Judy is a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse and a Certified Nurse Executive. Her free time is spent with her husband, Mike, and their 2 children, Matthew and Ali.
Elise Drake - Dr. Drake holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology. She completed her Predoctoral Internship in the Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry at WVU School of Medicine/Charleston Area Medical Center. Dr. Drake joined the CAMC Health Education and Research Institute as Senior Educator in July 2009. She is involved in educational, training and learning objectives for medical residents, as well as faculty and curriculum development in her roles both at the CAMC Graduate Medical Education office and at the CAMC Patient Simulation Center. She is a Licensed Psychologist at the CAMC Sleep Center. Her research and clinical interests include health psychology, sleep disorders, cognitive-behavior therapy, large-scale behavior change, and simulation in clinical and educational settings. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, traveling and spending time with her family.
Lora Duncan, MSN, MBA, RN- Lora Duncan is the Director for Nursing Practice and Development at Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC). She facilitates and implements all nursing practice and continuing education throughout the CAMC system. Works in collaboration with the: Chief Nursing Officers Directors, Nurse Managers, and Administration. Facilitates Standards and Practice/Education Council/ and Career Ladder, DNV management and review of audits, on-going education maintained and revamped at least every 3 years, monitors restraint use in the organization, develops any organizational annual required education, and develops and maintains nursing care procedures.
Lora received her Associate degree from University of Charleston; Baccalaureate degree from West Virginia University, Master’s degree in Executive Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing, currently is completing her Master’s in Business through Strayer University. She is also a member of American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), West Virginia Nursing Association (WVNA), active board member with the West Virginia Organization of Nurse Executives (WVONE), and an Executive member of West Virginia Future of Nursing (FONWV). Recently was certified as a DDI Facilitator.
She has worked closely in different roles such as open heart recovery nurse, telemetry, and medical surgical nursing. She’s an advocate for nurses and currently she’s working with FONWV in the Leadership co-chair role to help achieve the goal of 10,000 nurses as active board members by 2020.
Heidi Edwards- Heidi Edwards is the Associate Administrator for Medicine Services at CAMC Memorial. She completed her Associate Degree in nursing in 1991 and her Bachelor of Science in nursing in 2011, followed by a Masters in nursing in 2013, from Chamberlain College of Nursing. She holds certifications in intensive care nursing (CCRN) and advanced cardiac care nursing (CCM) through the American Society of Critical Care Nursing. She is a six sigma green belt, and has led multiple performance improvement initiatives at the unit and organizational level. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Steve, her two children, Haley and Jarrett, and serving to support the youth, children’s and music ministry at her church.
George Farris-George Farris is the Associate Administrator for the Surgical and Emergency Services at CAMC Memorial Hospital. He previously served as Administrator for the CAMC Cancer Program and is an Ethics Advisor. He earned an MBA from West Virginia University, is a graduate of the Leadership WV Program, and holds certifications as a Six Sigma Green Belt and DDI Facilitator. George began his career in the Management Engineering department at CAMC in 1987 as a Project Coordinator. He served as the Director of Management Engineering for twelve years prior to moving into hospital operations. He has co-authored several health care articles related to productivity and labor management. Particular areas of interest to George include leadership development, performance improvement, and organizational ethics.
Kristy Fidler, CAVS- Kristy is the Director of Volunteer Services for CAMC and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from West Virginia University. Kristy is a Certified Administrator of Volunteer Services (CAVS), member and president of the West Virginia Society of Directors of Volunteers Services (WVDSVS) and a member of the Association of Healthcare Volunteer Resource Professional (AHVRP). In her current role, Kristy enjoys working with the volunteers and departments across CAMC striving to align the work of the volunteers with the mission of the health system. Kristy has more than 15 years of experience in working with volunteers in non-profit organizations including the YMCA of the Kanawha Valley, the American Cancer Society and her own volunteer experience with WVU Extension Service 4-H Programs.
Kelly Gilbert- Kelly Gilbert is the Director of the CAMC Family Resource Center. She began her experience with CAMC as a Nurse Extern while in school. With a bachelor’s degree in nursing from West Virginia Wesleyan College, she has extensive experience in nursing and obstetrics. While working as a full-time nurse, Kelly served as the IVF Nurse Coordinator, Maternal Child Care Coordinator and Family Life Educator. She enjoys teaching and is a CAPPA certified childbirth educator as well as a Development Dimensions International (DDI), Service Plus, and DDI Empowerment instructor with CAMC University. The highlight of teaching for Kelly is watching her students’ faces light up when they really understand a concept. She also enjoys knitting and pottery.
Richard Hite- Richard Hite is the Respiratory Supervisor at CAMC Teays Valley Hospital in Hurricane, WV. He has a B.S. degree in Healthcare Management and an A.A.S. degree in Respiratory Therapy. Rick has worked in Respiratory Therapy for 34 years and served in a management role for 28+ years. Rick has completed the Leadership Charleston Program through some work with the local Chamber of Commerce and most recently received certification as a DDI Facilitator. He is a father of 2 and a grandfather of 2. He enjoys his family, camping and the great outdoors in his spare time and volunteers at Christ’s Kitchen at St. Marks Church in St. Albans as much as possible.
Misty Hodel- Misty is the Program Administrator for the Internal Medicine and Medicine/Psychiatry residency programs at CAMC and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and is TAGME – Certified (Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education-Certified) and certified as a DDI facilitator. Misty worked as a registered nurse for CAMC for 10 years before moving into management and education. During those clinical years, Misty was on several educational committees, some of which included the L&D bereavement team and the breastfeeding education team. Misty was also part of the original CREW training while a charge nurse at W&C. Recently, Misty has served as a Change Champion for our Cerner Revolution Project for our GME (Graduate Medical Education) department which included program directors, program coordinators, and residents throughout CAMC. Misty holds a national committee appointment for the Alliance of Academic of Internal Medicine (AAIM) specifically chairing the committee for all of the Program Administrators. She enjoys meeting new people during CAMC University classes and hearing how those classes help change the work processes for employees. Misty also enjoys spending time with her husband, Bart and son, Maxwell while attending his sports activities and their church activities.
Glen Martin- Glen Martin is an administrator at CAMC General Hospital. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management and Systems Engineering from West Virginia University and his MBA from University of Charleston. Glen has been with CAMC for 17 years, beginning in Management Engineering and earning his Six Sigma Master Black Belt. He currently teaches Service Excellence, CAMC’s customer service training. Outside CAMC, he coaches baseball and basketball in Winfield and is a golf instructor at the Charleston Chapter of the First Tee Golf Program, where he is also an Advisory Board Member. He also loves going to the pool with his family, vacationing on the beach, and relaxing on his boat!
Lori Meadows- Lori Meadows is the Lead Human Resources Associate at CAMC General Hospital. With CAMC University, she teaches Service Plus, Social Networking in the Workplace, and Retention and Employee Engagement, among other classes. She earned a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Wheeling Jesuit University and University of Charleston, respectively. Her favorite part about being a CAMCU Facilitator is making a positive difference in the culture at CAMC and for individual patients’ experience. Lori is passionate about working with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to raise money for finding a cure for CF, because her grandson Brody was born with Cystic Fibrosis. In her church community, she leads the Worship Team, plays piano, sings and leads the women’s ministry program. In her free time, she loves to go shopping and spend time with her friends and family.
Maricris Miller - Director, Patient Experience
Heather Moore - Heather is the Clinical Management Coordinator in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at CAMC Teays Valley Hospital. She is a Registered Nurse with a degree from Marshall University. She is actively pursuing her BSN at the University of Charleston. Heather has been actively involved in staff education and development while remaining active in multiple committees and councils. She spends her free time with her family, enjoys camping and reading.
Elizabeth Pellegrin - Elizabeth Pellegrin is the Chief Marketing Officer at CAMC. She supervises the marketing and public affairs team, and encourages strong communication skills, organizational abilities, strategic planning and project management. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and political science from West Virginia University and a Master's degree in the science of management and health care administration from the West Virginia Graduate College. She is a Development Dimensions International Certified Facilitator. Elizabeth is active in the community and currently serves on the City of Charleston’s Wayfinding Commission, and is a WVSSAC certified basketball official. She has served on numerous other community boards including the YWCA, the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra, Leukemia Society of America and the WVU Alumni Board –Kanawha County Chapter. When not working or volunteering, she spends time with her husband David, children Henry and Hadley, and two bonus daughters, Jane and Kathryn.
Heather Pennington - Heather is the Lead Education Specialist for the Patient Simulation Center.
She holds a Master of Health Administration Degree with specialization in Health Care Leadership from Capella University. She also holds certifications as an Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic (EMT-P) and Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education (C-TAGME). Heather is a Vitalsmarts facilitator and is involved in educating and training Universal Curriculum courses such as Patient Experience, Sleep Deprivation, and Foundations (Just Culture, TeamStepps, and Crucial Conversations) to medical residents, faculty, and all Medical Affairs new Providers. Heather enjoys time with her husband, Ryan and their children Dylan and Alyson.
Jean Anne Pritt- Jean Anne is a Organizational Development Specialist for the CAMC University. She provides effective identification, sourcing and coordination of professional non-clinical programming and administers and delivers learning solutions to CAMC. She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in HealthCare Administration at Marshall University with graduation date of May, 2017. Jean Anne received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from WV State University. She has completed the Frontline Leadership Development Path, is a DDI certified facilitator and a member of the Gamma Beta Phi Society. Prior to joining the CAMC University leadership team, she worked in Human Resources and served as a Benefit Associate for CAMC. In this role she was able to educate and train managers, employee and staff on policies and procedures.
Chris Shaffer - Chris Shaffer is the Nurse Manager for 4 West Medical Telemetry Unit at CAMC Memorial. She completed her Associate Degree in nursing in 1995 and her Bachelor of Science in nursing in 2011 from Chamberlain College of Nursing. She holds certifications in Progressive Care Nursing through the American Society of Critical Care Nursing and is a certified Nurse Executive. She is a six sigma green belt, and has led multiple performance improvement initiatives at the unit and organizational level. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter Hannah. She is an avid reader and loves history.
John Snyder - Nurse Manager, Open Heart Recovery Unit
Kristi Snyder - Kristi is the Vice President for Human Resources. She holds a M.S. degree in Industrial Relations and is certified as a Development Dimensions International (DDI) and Vital Smarts facilitator. Additionally, she holds the designations of Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Certified Compensation Professional (CCP). In her private time, Kristi enjoys spending time with her husband, Jim, 3 sons - Cole, Seth, and Owen, and their dog, Yankee.
Lisa Songer - Lisa Songer is a Nurse Manager at CAMC Memorial. She began as a nurse extern at CAMC and transitioned into a Charge Nurse position before assuming her current role. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Charleston and a master’s in Nursing Leadership from Chamberlain University. As a CAMC facilitator, she teaches Service Plus and Just Culture classes to CAMC employees. She has two sons, Gage and Dawson who live with her in a log house on a farm. They care for several farm animals and pets, and enjoy taking animals to the fair every year!.
Tracey Suppa-Todd - Tracey Suppa-Todd is the Lead Human Resources Associate located at CAMC Memorial Hospital, though she works with employees at Memorial, General, Women and Children’s Hospitals as well as at several CAMC off-site locations. She holds a MA degree in Psychology and is certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and as a Development Dimensions International Facilitator. She teaches Service Excellence and several courses in the HRU specialty area. She enjoys learning from participants about our company’s business through the role of facilitator and also helping managers in her areas of responsibility improve and maintain employee satisfaction. At home, Tracey stays busy with her husband, Daniel, and as a Girl Scout troop leader for their two daughters, Tori and Nola. She enjoys performing in local community theatre productions. She loves running, and volunteers as an assistant coach for a local run training program.
Beverly Thornton - Beverly Withrow-Thornton is the Director of Education with the CAMC Institute and holds a B.A. degree in Leadership, Organizational Development and HR Management and an A.D. in Nursing. She is a Development Dimensions International Certified Facilitator and serves as the chairperson for the CAMC Multidisciplinary Patient and Family Education Council. During Bev's 30 years at CAMC, she co-authored "The Effect of Instructional Media on Learner Motivation," conducted research and opened a consumer health information center to improve access of healthcare information to the public. Bev has co-chaired CAMC’s annual Healthfest for the community for more than 12 years. As the director of Education, her primary focus is to support development and delivery of professional, patient/ family and community health education. Bev and her husband Roger have 5 children and five grandchildren.. In her spare time, Bev enjoys traveling, church activities, and spending time with her husband, children and grand children.
Jonathan Tucker, CLLM- Jonathan is the Director of Linen Services for the CAMC Health System. He started working for CAMC after playing football in college at West Virginia State University where he holds a B.A. When he began working for CAMC, he started out as a Part-Time In House Transporter, and then several years later, he assumed the role of Mailroom and Courier Supervisor, then Plant Operations Manager before transitioning to the Director of Linen Services. Jonathan has been a presenter for Service Excellence since 2015 and is a DDI certified facilitator. When not at work, Jonathan enjoys working out, running as well as singing with local theatre companies and various venues across the state with his accompanist, Mark Scarpelli and girlfriend and fellow CAMC Employee (Mem ER Nurse) Rachael. He also has two dogs, Maximus and Copper.
Christina Warner - Christina Warner is the Education Coordinator for Professional Nursing at CAMC. She has experience in orthopedics, trauma care, and orthopedic program coordination. She is a Development Dimensions International Certified Facilitator, a Certified Values Coach Trainer, and an Advance Care Planning Facilitator. She currently teaches Service Plus classes to new CAMC employees, and is an active participant in the CAMC Ethics Committee. She especially loves teaching Service Plus because those skills ensure quality care of patients, families, and CAMC employees. It thrills her to see her fellow employees implement those skills in their everyday practice. Christina sings on the Praise Team and volunteers with the Children’s Ministry at church. She and her husband enjoy watching their son play travel soccer and taking care of their pet cat, Patches.
Andrew Weber - Andrew Weber is the Vice President/Administrator of CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital. He earned a master’s in Business Administration from Xavier University, is a graduate of the Leadership Charleston Program, and holds certifications as a Six Sigma Black Belt and a Development Dimensions International Certified Facilitator. He began his career at CAMC in Human Resources. Over the last nine years, Andrew has completed an administrative fellowship, served as Director of the CAMC Vascular Center of Excellence and Associate Administrator at both Women and Children’s and General Hospitals. Particular areas of interest to Andrew include patient satisfaction, leader coaching and mentoring, and development of new services. During his free time, Andrew enjoys spending time with his wife and their daughter, Molly. He also enjoys playing soccer and water skiing.
