Osteoporosis Education Series
for Primary Care Providers

This program, presented by the West Virginia Osteoporosis Prevention Education Program, is intended to provide primary care providers the latest information on the management of patients with osteoporosis. In 1996, the West Virginia Legislature created the Osteoporosis Prevention Education Act. This act allowed for the development of strategies to educate consumers, physicians, and health professionals on the risk factors, diet and exercise, diagnostic procedures, drug therapies, injury prevention, and treatment of osteoporosis.
